At Need 2 Renew, children are encouraged to explore their creativity and develop new artistic skills through a wide range of engaging art, craft and textile workshops held in our inspiring creative studio space. Through hands-on creating and making, children learn to think and act like artists as they experiment with a variety of materials, tools and technologies.
Workshops may include printmaking, drawing, painting, collage, textiles, sculpting, construction and craft activities, providing opportunities for both beginners and experienced young makers to build confidence, express their ideas and further develop their creative abilities in a fun and supportive environment.

Get ready for a delicious looking craft adventure with our 'fake bake' cake decorating workshop for kids!
Budding bakers will transform simple cardboard into masterpieces of pretend patisserie. Using soft, mouldable air dry clay and colourful craft foam for realistic texture, young creators can layer 'frosting' and build intricate designs.
The real fun starts with the sprinkles: a vibrant assortment of beads and pom poms will be available to create everything from soccer-themed sports cakes to beautiful berry tarts or even a slice of rainbow magic.

Young creators will step behind a real sewing machine to stitch, trim, and construct their very own plush, hooded towel wearable—the ultimate cozy essential for trips to the beach or days lounging by the pool.
Guided step-by-step through machine safety, straight stitching, and basic garment assembly, kids will build confidence and learn practical maker skills while creating a functional piece of summer gear.

This art class activity transforms an upcycled picture frame into a spectacular dessert display case that is almost so good you could eat it!
Children will begin by painting their frames in a vibrant, 'ice cream parlour' palette, then the activity shifts to sculpture, where young artists will build a towering, double-scoop ice cream cone from colourful, lightweight air-dry clay.
They can craft distinct, swirly layers and rich 'drizzle' effects to mimic sauce and melted ice cream drips. To complete the 3D masterpiece, they will scatter a generous mix of decorative sprinkles directly onto their clay scoops, making their artwork ready for a close-up!

Step into the heart of the savanna and capture the breathtaking beauty of the African wild! In this vibrant painting workshop, young artists will explore colour blending as they sweep rich reds, glowing oranges, and radiant yellows (or whatever colours they wish to use) across their canvas to create a brilliant, sun-drenched sky.
Once their custom backdrop is complete, they will learn the striking art of high-contrast painting by layering bold, black silhouettes over the sunset. They may chhose to use the iconic silhouette of a majestic elephant or maybe a giraffe, or something completely different, to tell an enchanting story against the backdrop of the golden hour.

This fun class turns textile recycling into a creative feast using cozy upcycled old blankets, colourful felt pieces, and mismatched buttons.
You’ll take charge of the kitchen by layering a soft blanket crust, cutting out vibrant felt for your favourite sauce and cheese, and choosing the perfect button toppings—whether they are pepperoni, olives, or something completely imaginary!
To ensure your final slice is sturdy and perfectly stuffed, a friendly adult helper will step in to handle the sewing machine and pull the main pieces together.
