Refund Policy

A legal disclaimer

Because we keep our class sizes strictly limited to ensure personal, high-quality tutoring and prepare specialised art and textile supplies in advance, we rely on the following booking and cancellation frameworks.

1. Australian Consumer Law & Our Guarantees

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to:

  • Cancel your service contract with us; and

  • A refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value.

If Need2Renew cancels a class, significantly changes the date or time, or a workshop cannot be delivered with due care and skill, you are legally entitled to a 100% full refund or a rescheduled session. No cancellation or administrative fees will apply in this scenario.

2. "Change of Mind" & Customer Cancellations

Outside of your statutory rights under the Australian Consumer Law, refunds are not automatically provided if you simply change your mind, choose the wrong date, or can no longer attend. To maintain community goodwill while protecting our studio's sustainability, we operate the following tiered framework:

  • More than 7 Days’ Notice: You will receive a full studio credit note to be used toward a future term or holiday workshop.

  • 48 Hours to 7 Days’ Notice: No cash refunds are available. You will receive a studio credit note (valid for 12 months) OR you may choose to transfer your ticket to a friend to attend in your place.

  • Less than 48 Hours’ Notice (or No-Show): No refund or studio credit will be issued. At this late stage, materials and project packs have already been prepped and cut, and it is generally impossible for us to fill the vacant seat from our waitlist.

3. Specific Terms for Children's Workshops

  • Illness: We understand that children get sick quickly, particularly during the winter school holiday workshops. However, because our expenses are committed upfront, our standard 48-hour cancellation and credit policy strictly applies.

  • Behaviour and Safety: Several of our workshops involve the use of sharp or potentially hazardous tools (including scissors, needles, hot glue guns, hammers, and sewing machines). Safety is our absolute priority. If a child refuses to follow safety instructions and must be sent home for the safety of themselves or others, no refund or credit will be issued for the remaining class time.

4. Minimum Class Numbers & Studio Cancellations

Our specialised art, craft, and textile workshops require a minimum number of participants to remain viable.

  • Minimum Numbers: If a workshop fails to reach our minimum requirement of 5 participants, Need2Renew reserves the right to cancel the session.

  • Our Commitment: We promise to give you at least 3 to 5 days’ notice if a class must be cancelled due to low numbers. You will be given the choice between a 100% full refund or a priority transfer into an alternative class.

5. Multi-Class Bundles & Missed Term Classes

If you purchase one of our discounted multi-class bundles (such as our 3-class Holiday Bundle or 5-class Term 3 Bundle):

  • Partial Cancellations: If you purchase a multi-class bundle and request a partial cancellation (for example, cancelling the remaining sessions after attending 2 classes), any refund or studio credit will be recalculated. The classes you already attended will revert to their full, single-session retail price, and the remaining balance will be credited or refunded accordingly.

  • Missed Term Classes: If a student misses a weekly class during the term, they may request to join a "make-up" session in another scheduled class running during that same school term, subject to seat availability. If a make-up session cannot be arranged before the end of the current term, the missed session is forfeited and cannot be rolled over or credited.
