Our Mission
Inspiring Creative Hands and Sustainable Minds
Need 2 Renew promotes sustainability by recycling and upcycling materials in many of our classes. Our creative workshops cater to both adults and children, featuring art, craft, and textile workshops that create lasting skills and foster a love for upcycling.
Our program changes each term, offering a diverse range of creative experiences - from printmaking and painting to fashion, sewing, and crafts.
We also offer a School Holiday Program for 7-12 year olds, with a focus on nurturing each child’s unique creativity through engaging, hands-on projects in a fun environment.
From birthday parties, church groups, paint parties, community groups, sip and sew parties, no matter the stage of the creative journey, there is something for you.
We believe in the power of creativity to bring change. Our focus on recycling and upcycling materials ensures that we not only create art but also contribute positively to the environment. By engaging in our classes, you are part of a community that values hands-on creativity and sustainable practices.

My name is Geoff Trevaskis aka: Mr. T.
My name is Geoff Trevaskis, and I have been a teacher for over 31 years, working at schools in Australia and internationally.
Throughout my career, I have specialised in Art and Technology subjects, teaching students across both primary and secondary year levels.
I am passionate about nurturing creativity and believe that students of any age can develop their innate creative abilities when given the opportunity to explore, experiment and make.
At Need 2 Renew my goal is to create engaging, supportive and inspiring learning environments where learners can build confidence, develop practical skills and discover the joy of creating.

Sewing for Beginners
As someone with little-to-no sewing experience, I did the ‘Sewing Basics’ 3-session class and I’m very happy I did! Geoff is a fantastic, in depth teacher, who is in tune with every individuals needs & abilities. It definitely helped me get into the world of sewing. Also a lovely ‘classroom’ and environment to learn in. I’ll be back!

Multiple Workshops
Our girl absolutely loved the school holiday workshop and attended four times because she was so excited to come back! Every session was engaging, fun, and full of creative opportunities.
One of the things we appreciated most was that Geoff encouraged the children to use their own ideas and imagination, rather than simply following instructions. It made every project feel unique and gave the kids confidence to express themselves.
Geoff is incredibly friendly, patient, and genuinely caring. He creates such a welcoming environment where children feel supported, inspired, and excited to learn. We highly recommend these workshops and can’t wait to come back!

I loved Mr. T's workshop. It was so much fun because we stuck stuff on our monsters and it was the first time I ever used a hot glue gun. My monster is my new favourite toy.

Upcycled Denim Apron
What a fabulous afternoon!
I had a great time making a denim apron with a terrific group of women. It was fun, relaxed and definitely plenty of laughs along the way.
Geoff is an amazing teacher, patient, knowledgeable and encouraging. He made everyone feel comfortable regardless of their sewing abilities. We had a couple of novices in the group but you would never know.
The workshop was so well set up and not needing to bring anything along made it easy. To be able to leave with a finished product is always a bonus even if we did go over schedule a little! Sorry Geoff haha
Definitely the best value for money you'll get and without a doubt I would absolutely recommend any of Geoffs workshops to anyone looking for something creative, social and a little different. I will definitely be back. 5*

I had such a fun Sunday arvo at the craft session. I made a really useful denim tote bag that I absolutely love and am already using and showing off.
Geoff is a wonderful teacher - friendly, patient, and made the whole experience enjoyable. I can't wait to come back for more sessions. Highly recommend.

Kinusaiga - Painting with fabric
Had a wonderful afternoon celebrating a birthday and learning the art of Kinusaiga. Very therapeutic playing with different textiles to create something special. Special way to celebrate a birthday.

Well what a fun class, Geoff was a great "teacher" and explained everything in a manner that all could understand clearly. He frequently offered assistance and it was great to meet such a fun group of ladies too.
All equipment was supplied with many choice options available for colours in the jeans. thank you Geoff, looking forward to doing the next project.... just a warm friendly environment that I would recommend to any one even if you have not experience you will make a bag here !
